American Comic-Book Illustration

Bullet-For-My-Valentine-Tears-Dont-Fall-365983This is some imagery that was created for the single “Tears Don’t Fall”. The image is taken from the music video, but it’s re-done in an American comic book style illustration. It reminds the viewer of the video, but it’s more stylized and eye-catching for a still image.

This type of imagery would be perfect for the website. It could be part of the flash banner. The tear could run down her face & there could be rain falling in the background. Even some of her hair could blow in the wind. Small animation that can be re-peated would be better than something very intricate & big. It would be less distracting when the viewer is trying to read the page, yet it would keep the atmosphere created by the overall site

bullet-scream-aim-fireBullet’s second album has a more fantasy style. It keeps the gothic feel but it is more evolved. It conveys both the dark and light side of the band, with the use of lighting. It has quite a similar feel to the second Evanescence album.

Bullet For My Valentine

bullet_for_my_valentine_the_poisonBullet’s second album “The Poison” uses strong illustration for the cover. It’s done in an American comic style. The image is striking and grabs attention. The only colours used are red & black which adds to the errie, dark feeling portrayed by the album cover. The white font creates a great contrast to the dark imagery & it shows the bands lighter side

evanescence - the open doorEvanescence’s second album “The Open Door” shows a more fairytale, fantasy style through the use of imagery and colour. It still keeps the gothic look, but it is more elegant – this is achieved through the use of swirls and gold

evanescence_fallenEvanescence are an American Rock Band. Amy Lee, the lead vocalist is the face of the band. This is the album artwork for their breakthrough album “Fallen”. The style is quite dark & gothic.
