Rough Cut – Title Sequence & TS Style Screens

April 27, 2011 at 6:40 pm (MA Motion Graphics - Projects)

Rough cut for the Hawthorn Tree title sequence. Currently still a work in process, so there are a few technical issues & other characters/elements to be included in the final sequence. With this sequence I wanted to introduce the viewer to the dark, eerie, unsettling, sinister Otherworld and the creatures (particularly dark fairies) that inhabit it. I also wanted to take the viewer on a journey from the real world to the Otherworld, while highlighting the sharp contrast between both worlds.

Hawthorn Tree TV series (info) Further reading to understand Hawthorn Tree Universe – includes target audience, synopsis, characters & locations

Logo & Transmedia Storytelling Style screens

These again are still a work in progress and all elements that make up the transmedia storytelling campaign are not yet included

1. Hawthorn Tree logo – As it appears in full like in the title sequence, on the website etc.

2. Elements of Logo – As the logo is quite long it can be simplified when needed For example on websites like Youtube and Twitter

3.Hawthorn Tree Youtube – Through this page users will be able to access the Hawthorn Tree   webisodes & watch the latest episodes of the series

4.Twitter – The colours & patterns for the backgrounds are similar to the Youtube designs to keep style consistent. The twitter account will give all the latest information on the Hawthorn Tree universe as well as having a live translation for the evil characters native language to English as the show is broadcast

5.Hawthorn Tree Facebook

6.Human Characters Facebook – The children that get taken to the Otherworld will have their own Facebook pages to make them more real. They will engage with other characters in the show through these pages

7. Sidhe Social Media (rough) – As Facebook itself cannot be edited an alternative Facebook like social media “site” will be accessible on the Hawthorn Tree website. Audiences will not be able to sign up for this “site” as it is only for members of the Sidhe, but similar information to that found on Facebook will be included.

I’m currently looking into a way to connect it to Facebook

8. Transmedia Storytelling Release schedule – An outline of the different elements of the transmedia storytelling campaign that make up the Hawthorn Tree universe. Gives an idea of how all the elements are connected and when they are released
