Intel “The Chase” movie/ad

April 4, 2011 at 3:22 pm (Motion Graphics)

A highly entertaining short movie/ advertisement for Intel done in a Transmedia style way. It shows all the different platforms seemlessly fitting together e.g. games, live action movies, youtube vidoes, flicker, facebook etc. These are all mixed together in such a clever way to make a movie out of the clips. Could make something like this for my transmedia project to show all the aspects of transmedia & how they all fit together

Motion Comic

March 23, 2011 at 4:59 pm (Motion Graphics)

Shows how comics can evolve from traditional style to become webisodes of a show. This style could be taken for the webisodes for Hawthorn Tree. The series could be released in small parts, between episodes of the tv series like Heroes. These motion comics could then be released as a collection of webisodes in dvd format, or as a traditional comic, allowing the same stories to be consumed in different formats. The comic could be included with the dvd set.

Tutorial for Text

March 10, 2011 at 5:00 pm (Motion Graphics)

Thinking of having the text look like it has just been written on the screen instead of just fade in and fade out. Will have a go at following this tutorial that has that kind of effect

Theme Tune Ideas

February 25, 2011 at 11:09 am (Motion Graphics)

Have a traditional Irish song to start with, then use a rock cover version for the Otherworld

Whiskey In The Jar – Dubliners

Then switch to Metallica

Sixpence None the Richer – Kiss Me

Switch to New Found Glory

The Cranberries – Zombie

Breed 77

Have something up like John Ryan’s Polka (instrumental used in Titanic) – swtich to rock version of it

Alternative Ideas

Jimmy Eat World – Always Be: fast pased with lyrics that could relate to the show. Has an American feel to it

All Stars – Things That Go Bump In The Night: More pop & unbeat than dark and haunting. Could fit well for the younger end of the target market. Maybe too bobity for the older veiwers

The Letter Black – Fire With Fire: A little darker, but still quite light. Fast & nice change between the male & female singer. I’ll look into this band a little more to see if any of there songs has an Irish slant

The Irish rural town could use the music around 3:00 then when moving into images from the Otherworld this could be conveyed when the rest of the guitars/drums kick back in around 4:00. The music still had an Irish sound but has a dark gothic/rock element to it as well. Is there enough difference in the music to keep viewers interest

I also found a site that allows you to make your own version of songs, allowing you to take out the vocals of songs if the music fits the sequence

Moondance by Nightwish

The Pharoh Sails to Orion

Angles – Within Temptation

Unsun – Whispers

Evanescence – Lies
